My original trip diary became part of the Blackfoot Sue / Cry Wolf website history, as I wanted to write about meeting the band members for the first time and going to the gigs. I didn't really work on it until after I had gotten home, mainly because I had very limited computer and Internet access while I was away. Nor did I take many photos.
However, I well and truly made up for it on the second trip! This time I had the tools. I had bought a digital camera on the way home in Japan, I had a notebook computer. And since I was filming as I went, and able to upload the photos straight away, it made sense to be constructing a narrative to go along with them. And thus the tradition of the trip diary was firmly established, and along with it, the building of a photo page for the gigs I went to. And so it continued, for each subsequent trip.
As well as creating an enduring and colourful record of my journeys, it was a nice way for my friends all around the world to keep up with what I was getting up to - without having to send the letters and postcards! Enjoy!
